The now famous teen who cracked an egg on the head of an Australian politician certainly has some high profile fans.

The team's mental performance coach, Paddy Steinfort, posted the image of Simmons' sneakers in his Instagram story. That's a pretty awesome shout out.

Teammate Jonah Bolden, who is also from Melbourne, got in on the action too, writing "#LEGENDEGGBOY" on his sneakers.

These tributes come as "egg boy" was interviewed by police and released without charge on Tuesday, as they continue their investigation into the incident.

The lawyer for "egg boy," Peter Gordon, told the media that the money donated to the teen through a crowdfunding page, now totalling more than $70,000, would be sent to victims of the Christchurch attack.

A mural has also been painted in homage of "egg boy," while musicians and concerts have offered him free tickets for life.
