Affleck and Lopez met while filming Gigli, a terrible film that led to a beautiful romance. They should have left well enough alone, but Lopez played a small role as Affleck's deceased wife in Jersey Girl -- a terrible film that doused salt in the wounds of their devastating breakup.

Spider-Man giveth and Spider-Man taketh away. The couple whose on-screen chemistry was more memorable than literally anything in The Amazing Spider-Manbroke up the year after its 2014 sequel. They are at least civil enough of late to go for a walk in the park, so hope, while futile, remains alive.

The SNL dream team has a small overlap in filmography, including animated features and ensemble comedies. While we'd like to blame Spring Breakdownfor the comedy couple's eventual collapse, they shared the most screen time as siblings in 2007's Blades of Glory. If any celebrity pair could pull off playing fictional siblings, it's these two -- which is why their divorce turned all our laughter into tears.

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman

Cruise and Kidman met while filming the 1990 drama Days of Thunder. Two years later, they filmed Far and Away, and for several years their marriage was impervious to the curse of shared screen time -- until Eyes Wide Shut. Stanley Kubrick's romantic and sexual thriller about a potential affair may have seeped into Cruise and Kidman's marriage while their eyes were averted, and they divorced in 2001.

Woody Allen and Diane Keaton

Allen and Keaton met in 1968, through the magic of not film but theater. The two fell in love during production for Allen's play Play It Again, Sam, but by the time they had filmed a screen adaptation and released it, the spark was gone. That didn't stop them from making seven more successful films together, proving that some people are just destined to remain friends and colleagues.

Aishwarya Rai and Vivek Oberoi

A lot of Bollywood couples have made this mistake, but Rai and Oberoi's was the most egregious because it subjected audiences to Kyun! Ho Gaya Na? The pair who were the talk of the tabloid world came across utterly tepid in the flop film, and then split, leaving Ash to join the family of Bollywood royalty and Oberoi's career to descend swiftly into the toilet.

Lesson learned: Fall in love on a set and then never work together again.
