Dating in 2020 has been interesting, to say the very least.

Apps have done their best to pivot to the brave new world of virtual dating, and it's safe to say there's been no shortage of new features this year. Well, get ready for some more of them!

Hinge has decided that you need even more fancy bells and whistles to make your love life easier, rolling out several new features globally on Dec. 8.

Enter, Roses. Don't worry, this isn't some kind of Tudor battle to usurp the English throne. Hinge is allowing users to send Roses to "convey a greater level of interest." It's basically like The Bachelormeets Tinder Super Likes.

In addition to Roses, Hinge is bringing you a new feed called Standouts, which will essentially collect all your Roses into one giant...bunch? (OK, sorry).

Hinge users will also see a new feed featuring Prompts and Photo Prompts from possible matches. Standouts will refresh everyday to show you new Prompts curated based on your previous likes and comments sent to possible matches.

If someone catches your eye in Standouts, simply send them a Rose to show them you're interested.

In other news, Hinge is also refreshing its app design, to bring you a "harmonious colour palette pulled from the outside world" and featuring "illustrations that are imperfectly hand-drawn to better reflect the real people" you'll meet on Hinge. Are we talking stick people drawings then or...? That colour palette consists of purples, greens, and warmer red shades, just in case you were wondering.

You'll see Roses before likes and you can send either a Rose or a regular like when you're swiping through the Discover feed (which is where you can swipe on random profiles, regardless of whether they've liked you or not). Wondering if there's a catch? Well, turns out you only get one free Rose (which regenerates every Sunday) and you can purchase more whenever you feel like it.

Time to wake up and smell the Roses, I guess?
