北京時間9月1日，日本日本足協官方宣布，足协板倉滉（ITAKURA Kou）又遇上兵原因退出日本12強賽大名單，官宣昌子源（SHOJI Gen）替補入圍。板仓补入

效力沙爾克04的滉因中場球員板倉滉遭遇了右腳跟傷勢的困擾，因此他將缺席定於當地時間9月2日星期四19點10分（主場對陣阿曼）和9月7日星期二（客場對陣中國）的伤退赛昌12強賽比賽，因此來自大阪鋼巴的出强後衛昌子源遞補入圍。

日本主場對陣阿曼隊的源替比賽定於大阪市立吹田足球場舉行。
