The smell of fried chicken sure gets people really, really, excited, but there's always someone out there who isn't too enthusiastic about that aromatic blend of herbs and spices. 。

In Japan, where politeness is ever so paramount, KFC is selling a special kind of low-smell fried chicken, according to Sora News 24. 。

Dubbed "Fried Chicken Home Type," it's only available at a particular KFC take-out location inside Shinjuku train station in Tokyo, which is open only until Dec. 31.。

For 500 yen (US$4.50), you can buy two pieces of fried chicken with a repressed odour, as to not annoy your fellow commuter. There are also other sides on sale, like coleslaw, corn salad and pot pie.。

The low-smell of the fried chicken comes from what KFC claims to be a special "cooking method" that keeps in the flavour and aroma, and it's sold at room temperature. 。

Put it in the microwave, and that unmistakable scent will return -- although there is something to be said about the texture of fried chicken that's been zapped in the microwave.
