北京時間11月15日，荷兰荷蘭隊官方宣布，官方中後衛德弗賴因傷退出本期國家隊，德弗無緣當地時間周二對陣挪威的赖因世預賽生死戰。

德弗賴是伤退生死在當地時間周六對陣黑山的比賽中受傷的。當場比賽，出国荷蘭在兩球領先的家队情況下痛失好局，2-2遭到黑山絕平。无缘在世預賽還剩一輪的末轮情況下，荷蘭積20分，荷兰身後的官方土耳其和挪威均積18分，橙衣軍團錯失提前出線的德弗良機。

世預賽末輪，赖因荷蘭將在主場與挪威直接對話，伤退生死土耳其則是出国客場挑戰黑山。失去德弗賴，對於橙衣軍團的防線來說麻煩不小。
