Taking to Facebook, he made a public announcement, possibly aided by alcohol's confidence-imbuing properties.  。

The response from Pendlebury's customers was very positive, with one commenter calling it "the very best sick note" they'd ever seen.  。

Even the racing event Pendlebury had been attending got in on the fun and congratulated him on his excellent excuse -- and his big win.。
