We've seen some pretty awful wax figures in our day, but wow, do the ones at the new Dreamland Wax Museum in Boston take the cake.。

Per a piece from the Associated Press covering the new gallery, most of the figures at Dreamland are constructed using photo references alone, which explains how they come out looking like this:。

Who's the celebrity? We'll give you one clue: His portrayal of Batman was almost as bad as his wax figure. 。

As the AP notes, the museum's figures have been criticized on Twitter for looking absolutely nothing like their subjects. 。

In early August, the museum stirred up negative reactions for its Tom Brady figure.。

The museum responded to the backlash in a Facebook post, defending the sculpture and inviting Brady to sit in for a measurement session.。

"The only way to create a perfect rendition is for the artist to sit with the person and take over 200 measurements. That's the only way the figure will be exact," the post states.
