Stranger Thingsis the perfect Frankenstein-amalgam of classic '80s sci-fi films, and for Season 2, the show is really leaning into those influences. A new poster shared on the Stranger ThingsTwitter was creepy enough on its own, and it happens to be a direct reference to the 1979 film Alien.

Everything about this poster is terrifying; the Upside Down dead goop stuff in the shape of an egg (is it...regenerating?), the barren landscape of that mysterious realm which resembles a dead planet or post-apocalyptic earth. And then there's this:

In Alien, the strange life-form on this distant moon wasregenerating, and it wasn't exactly friendly. The Stranger Thingsposter is Alien down to the font, and as both posters remind us, there will be screaming -- mostly from us as we watch.
Stranger Things 2premieres Oct. 27 on Netflix.
