reporters -- Peter Baker, Michael S. Schmidt, and Maggie Haberman -- in the Oval Office, Trump talked about his visit to France for Bastille Day.。

Haberman then commented saying Macron "was very deferential to you."。 To which Trump responded: "He’s a great guy. Smart. Strong. Loves holding my hand."Here's the whole exchange. Note that Trump reiterates 。three。

At one point Trump even kissed Macron's wife, Brigitte — who he did a little handshake dance with on Thursday — without letting go of her husband: 。

Macron, who's already showed Trump he's not afraid of his infamously powerful grip, doesn't want to let go. It's difficult to establish who's actually in control.
。 Both men seem to be sending some sort of elaborate physical message that they are each very strong, very determined, and very not here for each other's nonsense.
