After burger connoisseurs grilled Google for its sorry excuse for cheeseburger emoji, which foolishly featured the cheese underthe patty, CEO Sundar Pichai vowed the company would "drop everything" to make the emoji right with the world.

On Tuesday — one month after the ordeal shook foodies everywhere — Emojipedia released Google's updated burger emoji, which is now respectably ordered: bun, lettuce, tomato, cheese, patty, bun.

We needed this small win, 2017. Thank you.

The initial complaint was tweeted by Twitter user Thomas Baekdal, who called attention to Apple and Google's varied ingredient orders.

Google was dragged for sticking the cheese underneath the burger, where it couldn't properly melt, but Apple's lettuce placement also came under fire, because honestly, who wants to bite into warm, juicy lettuce?

The whole revelation was eye-opening, and after seeing Google take the feedback to heart and rid its software of the culinary abomination, concerned emoji users breathed a virtual sigh of relief.

Your move, Apple.

The burger emoji isn't the onlybeloved food and drink item Google's upgrading. The company also improved the beer emoji to ensure froth is no longer present at the top of a half-full beer. (Very professional.)

And cheese-lovers can finally sleep at night knowing the holes in the otherwise delicious-looking cheese wedge will no longer appear painted on.

Google's new emoji are being released in the new Android 8.1 software update, which is expected to roll out to devices in December — but those who've waited far too long for this moment already can check them out in the beta Developer Preview.

Google's put us all through a lot so why not celebrate this major moment in history by treating yourself to an IRL cheeseburger and beer?

You deserve it.
