The horrors aren't over: FX has renewed American Horror Story for a seventh season of blood, guts and ghosts. Showrunners Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk will return to helm the series they created in 2011.

“Ryan, Brad and their team of remarkable writers have done an amazing job of keeping American Horror Storyendlessly inventive, shocking and entertaining and we are honored to move ahead with them on the seventh installment,” said FX C.E.O. John Landgraf in a press release. “The sustained success through six installments only proves how intensely the series resonates with fans."

The premiere of American Horror Story: Roanokewas the third most-watched telecast in FX history in core adult demographics. The current season ties together the previous five's seemingly disparate narratives.
