The 2017 Grammy nominations were announced this morning, and people naturally already have a lot of feelings (No Zayn for Best New Artist?).。

As expected, many of the top categories will come down to Beyonce vs. Adele (give or take a Drake). Smart money should be on Beyonce to have the slightest edge. Queen Bey has never won Album of the Year, and the Grammys will likely want to acknowledge her most substantial work.。

Beyond the Album of the Year showdown, here are the big storylines coming out of this morning's Grammy nominations.。

No David Bowie。 Many suspected that Bowie’s final opus – released just days before his death last January – would snag one of the Album of the Year slots. For a dude who has been openly angry in the past for being ignored by the recording industry, this marks a big change. Congrats Justin. Calm down. Thanks to the Grammys insane eligibility period (the cutoff is Sept. 30, 2016 for the 2017 ceremony) 。Joanne。 wasn't eligible. It's why we're only just now getting around to Adele's。25 。

nominations, even though that album -- and "Hello" -- came out last fall. If she's overlooked next year, then we can cue the freakout 。

5. Bow down。Yup, Beyonce is still killing it. The star was the most-nominated artist this year with nine (!) nods, and if she wins eight of those she'll be the most-awarded female artists in Grammys history.。Lemonade。for everyone!
