It might sound like a tired trope from a '70s television show, but somehow this koala and dog got trapped at the bottom of an abandoned mineshaft. 。

Yes, these things still really do happen. The mine, located in Ipswich, Australia, was attended to by firefighters and the RSPCA on Monday after yelps from the dog were heard.。

Rescuers had to use large animal bag and ropes to fetch the pair out. "It didn't want to cooperate real well," Mullins told the news outlet. 。 After an hour of little success, the koala was forcibly trapped with a net and brought back up to the surface.。It was taken to a wildlife hospital and RSPCA spokesperson Michael Beatty told the 。
