You really have to stop sleeping next to your phone.

Another smartphone's battery has exploded -- this time belonging to a Samsung Note 4, that blew up in the middle of the night in Guizhou, southwest China.

The phone was plugged in and charging next to a five-year-old girl, when it exploded at about 4 a.m. The explosion burnt her face, hair and hands, as well as the duvet beneath it, reports the Guizhou Metropolitan Daily.

As a result of the explosion, the girl has been unable to eat, speak or sleep due to the pain of the burns. She may have permanent scars from the accident, her parents said.

The girl's father, Feng Lingling, told local papers that the phone was purchased in August last year in Puding county, near where the family lives in Anshun. It cost 2,699 yuan ($390).

The retailer that sold the phone confirmed it was a genuine product to the Guizhou Metropolitan Daily.

However, Samsung sent someone to check Feng's phone after the explosion, and insisted that the battery within was fake.

The South Korean electronics giant said in a follow-up statement: "We would like to express our concern to those injured, and we have been communicating with our client, in order to find out the cause of the problem."
